Sprint may not be ready to officially flip the 4G switch in New York City and Los Angeles just yet, but the story is a little different for the folks in Nashville, Tenn. Today Sprint has announced that their WiMAX network now covers Nashville, allowing customers in the Music City to access data faster than ever. With the launch of WiMAX in Nashville, there are now 52 markets with access to Sprint's 4G network. Check out the full press release below.
While Sprint's roll out of their 4G network may not be going as fast as we'd all like (we do love our 4G speeds!), the carrier seems to be spreading WiMAX around the country at a good pace. It'll be interesting to see how many markets have Sprint's 4G available by the time another carrier launches their own 4G network, which will likely be Verizon and their LTE network. How many of you Nashvillians out there are enjoying the new WiMAX speeds?

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (BUSINESS WIRE), September 15, 2010 - Starting today, Sprint (NYSE:S) 4G – the next generation in wireless service – is available to customers in Nashville. Sprint 4G enables fast mobile downloads, video chat and a range of innovative and useful wireless applications. So, a tourist in the Music City can do their best Hank Williams impression while videochatting via a Samsung Epic™ 4G with their die-hard country music friends in Houston.
