RIM's Torch 9800 is getting a majority of the attention right now, but that's not stopping the BlackBerry maker from outing a minor revision to the Curve 8500 series. Launching in "smoky violet" and "graphite grey," the BlackBerry Curve 3G offers a 624 MHz processor, 256 MB of memory, Wi-Fi, a microSD card slot, and a 2.0-megapixel camera. Interestingly enough, while the Curve 3G will ship with BlackBerry OS 5.0, it will support BlackBerry 6 when available, bringing the total number of capable devices to four.
The Curve 3G will be available "in the coming weeks." Sure, it's a minor revision of an existing series and it's a design we've seen for some time thanks to leaks, but it's a new device nonetheless. The real question - is it enough to keep the T-Mobile BlackBerry users from defecting to the Vibrant?
