The white iPhone 4 has been delayed several times since its announcement, and now we aren't even sure when it will finally launch. There have been many rumors floating around that try to explain the delays, and the latest one is that light leakage is to blame. Scott Moritz of TheStreet claims that the light from the iPhone screen is leaking through the edges of the device and through the back of the phone. Moritz's source says that since the white back of the device has a lower opacity than the black model, light is able to leak through. The glass construction of the iPhone 4 makes it harder to fill in gaps and solve the light leakage issue.
This latest report seems to go along with the vague explanation of manufacturing difficulties that Apple has offered for the delay in the past. However, Mr. Moritz doesn't have the best record when it comes to making claims about Apple in the past, so be sure to take this news with a grain or two of salt. I don't know about you, but I don't really care why the white iPhone 4 has been delayed so much. I just want the thing to be released.
