Apple just invited select members of the media to a press conference this Friday, July 16, at 10 AM PT. The subject at hand? iPhone 4.
While it stands to reason the company will be discussing the much ballyhooed antenna issues plaguing the device, neither Apple representatives nor any invited press have passed along any details as to what, specifically, will be discussed here. Given that Apple scheduled the event for a Friday and sent the invites out after 5PM PT on a Wednesday, when most East Coast media types had signed off for the evening, it stands to reason that they wanted to keep the event as low-profile as possible while still giving journalists time to get to Cupertino for the Friday morning event. Sounds like some bug-related stuff in the offing to me.
We'll keep you posted on what transpires leading up to, and during the Friday presser.
Meantime, check out Engadget's rundown of what their staff and some, ahem, "Industry Notables" (yeah, I'm in there) have to report on the iPhone 4 Death Grip.
