We've seen a few leaks of the Motorola Charm, which is headed to T-Mobile, but we've been missing the all important release and price information. Today we can scratch one of those off thanks to the folks at TmoNews. They received an internal pricing screenshot showing details of both the Charm and a "Samsung Supersonic," which they believe may be an internal codename for the Vibrant. The Android 2.1-toting candybar Charm will run you $269.99 retail or $74.99 on a two-year contract, after a $75 mail-in rebate (meaning you'll pay $149.99 in the store).
The Samsung Supersonic, which TmoNews says may be the Samsung Vibrant, is priced at $499.99 retail or $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate (your total in the store would be $249.99). The $199.99 contract pricing is the same as the Vibrant will go for, but the retail price is a little higher than the $449.99 price that Phandroid allegedly heard straight from Samsung in the past. Whether the Supersonic is indeed the Vibrant or an entirely differently device, I'm sure all will be revealed soon.
While the retail price for the Moto Charm seems pretty low, I'm surprised the contract price is so high. We may not know any official specs for the device, but judging by the form factor, I can't image the device is going to be very high-end. It would be great to see a new Android device going for $49.99 on contract, or perhaps even free. This would help the platform continue to infiltrate the public and drive adoption since the contract price of a phone seems to be the most important to consumers.
