There's no question that Apple's iPad currently reigns supreme as the end all, be all of tablet devices. Many have challenged it, and so far few have succeeded in getting anywhere near as popular or as purchased as the iPad has been since its public debut. And let's be honest, I'm not even sure anything really has a shot. But let's just say, for a moment, that there was a device out there that could compete, what would it be? Not too long ago, before Microsoft but the kibosh on what we knew as the Microsoft Courier, a dual-screen tablet device, I would have said that was the one that had a chance.
And maybe I'm not wrong. A fan of the Courier project decided to send an email to Steve Ballmer asking why Microsoft stopped developing the Courier device. The email (above), was a decent length, as I'm sure it needed to be to get the point across (in the mind of the individual who wrote it). And in a very much Steve Jobs like fashion, Ballmer responded with a very brief six word statement: "We are working on things thanks."
What does this mean? Is Microsoft still working on the Courier project, or something like it? At this point it's anybody's guess, but rest assured we'll keep digging and as we get more information, we'll pass it on to you. Anybody looking forward to the revival of the Microsoft Courrier?
