Verizon creates @DroidLanding Twitter, hunt for free DROID Xs begins

After watching the short DROID X teaser that was released this morning, many users began analyzing the ad to find any sort of hidden information that they could.  After seeing reflections in the eye that listed specs like HDMI output, an 8 megapixel camera, and a 4.3-inch WVGA screen, someone spotted "@DroidLanding."  After a search yielded this Twitter account, the @DroidLanding Twitter was updated with the following information:

"REPORT: Droid X units have escaped! Get the stats on them at http://www.droiddoes.com . Forewarned is forearmed."

The bio for the account says that there are DROID X devices hidden across the country and that clues about their whereabouts will be given at the @DroidLanding Twitter account.  The winners of the scavenger hunt will get their own DROID X before everyone else.  Verizon is really hyping the impending release of the DROID X, and this new ad campaign/nationwide scavenger hunt is sure to garner some attention.  The carrier is definitely getting cozy with Google and Android, and this latest move helps solidify Verizon as the carrier to go to for your Android fix.  Here's to hoping that we'll see a similar scavenger hunt/ad push for the Droid 2.  While the DROID X looks like a great device, the Droid 2 and its (potentially) vanilla Android OS is the way to go for me.
