Palm and Adobe released the Flash plug-in for webOS way back in February, but not much has been heard about the development of the plug-in since then.  Palm broke the silence today, explaining that they're not sure what's going on.  A Palm rep said that they aren't sure "what the hold-up is" with the growth of Flash on webOS.  Adobe, who has been heavily focused on Android development as of late, hasn't commented on the situation.

While wanting to develop for Android is understandable with the platform's rapid growth, it would be wise for Adobe to focus on other platforms as well.  With HP's acquisition of Palm, as well as the recent news that Palm is planning new webOS hardware and software, webOS is going to see revitalization in the near future.  While I'm not a fan of Flash on mobile devices and the effects it has (enabling annoying Flash ads, making some hardware chug), it's definitely good to have the option if you want to view embedded Flash content.  While Android just received its third beta of Flash, webOS development has been stagnant.  Hopefully the new webOS-based devices will bring more users to the platform and spark development, both of Flash and other apps.
