Apple may have introduced a ton of new features for iOS 4 yesterday, but apparently they forgot to patch the OS up. The new iOS 4 GM jailbreak was completed by msftguy and allows anyone with an iPhone 3GS and the new iOS 4 Golden Master release to jailbreak and unlock their device. The OS and new version of iTunes have been leaked onto BitTorrent sites, but msftguy has also put up the necessary files. If you don't know exactly what you're doing, it's probably best to stay away from this hack and wait a couple of weeks until the official OS and jailbreak method are released. The iPhone Dev Team has promised a jailbreak and unlock of the new iOS 4 before the month is over, so you may be better off just soldiering on with your 3.x version of the OS for a little longer. It's definitely reassuring that the Dev Team already has a jailbreak and unlock ready, but hopefully Apple doesn't end up closing that hole with the final version of the OS, however unlikely that may be. If you're feeling brave, you can find all of the necessary files right here. Check out video evidence of the jailbreak below.
