The Motorola Droid is most likely to get the update to Android 2.2 after the Nexus One, but Motorola hasn't been totally clear on when we can expect Froyo to hit. Instead of waiting for the official update, users over at My Droid World have put together an unofficial Froyo update for the Droid. The download link and instructions are available now, although this port of Froyo doesn't have Wi-Fi. It seems to be working well for most users, although with unofficial ports like this one, you always run the risk of things not going smoothly. The update should keep Droid owners happy with their devices amongst all of the recent news about newer Android phones, like the Moto Xtreme and HTC EVO, at least until the official update drops. Head to the My Droid World link below to find the download, and keep in mind that, while unlikely, if you mess up your device in the process, it's all on you.
