Verizon plans to partner with others to deploy LTE in rural areas

If you live in a rural area, it can be tough to get good wireless coverage with decent speeds.  Verizon has plans to remedy this problem by partnering with other companies to help spread their LTE coverage to customers in more rural, less populated areas.  With these agreements, Verizon would let their partner build and maintain the towers and then Big Red would supply the spectrum to broadcast the 4G signal to users.  This news is great for everyone because Verizon and its partners get more business and the customers get the blazing 4G speeds that they want.  Having driven across Iowa and only getting 1X or EDGE speeds for the majority of the drive, I can feel the pain of rural users.  Hopefully this news will lead to the other carriers signing up with partners so that we can all feel the 4G goodness, not just those lucky enough to live in a large city.
