What's Good: Nice tight fit, plenty of room around buttons.
What's Bad: Circular connector sticks out ever-so-slightly, making it a bit uneven on a flat surface.
The Verdict: Besides the circular locking mechanism on the back, the ifrogz BlackBerry Luxe Bold 9700 case is a great option for anyone seeking protection for their device.
Let me preface by saying that I'm not a case person. Typically, I prefer a naked phone to one that's wrapped in a bulky case. As much as I love the idea of silicon cases, the constant battle with lint and other pocket fuzz is enough to keep me away. That being said, if I was to use a case, I would give serious consideration to the ifrogz BlackBerry Luxe Bold 9700 case. The overall size is almost perfect, and it offers ample space around the external buttons. The ifrogz case is actually two pieces, hooking together in the middle via a circular "lock." I was fortunate to get my hands on the blue/black case, but if the aforementioned color combination doesn't tickle your fancy, it's also available in teal, deep pink, grape, red, orange, green, and iron.
What I like about the ifrogz case (among other things) is the size. It's not thick. Even with the case installed, I don't feel like I'm carrying a rock. What's more, the cutouts for the buttons are ample - in other words, you're not trying to squeeze your finger through a tiny slit to get to the volume rocker. The case fits snugly, to the point that I had a hard time removing it from my Bold 9700 after popping it on. Though this is going to be a love/hate thing, I was very impressed with how tight the case was. Gone was the concern of having to worry about the case falling off each time I dropped the device (and believe me, I drop it regularly). Inside, the case is smooth to ensure that the device stays scratch-free (and if you've used a Bold 9700, you're well aware of how scratch-prone the chrome edges are).
The only frustration I encountered was the circular connector that brings the two pieces together. Not only does it make the case a bit uneven on a flat surface, but I would have preferred a better way to connect the two pieces together. Besides that, it's a case that I could recommend to anyone searching for a case solution for their BlackBerry Bold 9700. The ifrogz BlackBerry Luxe Bold 9700 case can be purchased online or in AT&T retail stores for $29.99.
