It's been a while (at least a few days) since an exciting rumor has made its way across the blogosphere. So you can imagine my excitement this morning when I heard that Google's Nexus One could become available to Verizon customers as soon as the end of next week.
The source of the rumor and the screenshot above is from a junior member in Google's Nexus One online forums, which in most cases wouldn't give much credibility to the story. However, Engadget is reporting that they also received word from SoftSailor as well as JkOnTheRun that "the Verizon Nexus One will definitely show up in April, which meshes with the Spring timeframe we've already been given."
The above screenshot was said to have gone live on google.com/phone for a short while over the weekend and include a $199 price tag provided you sign up for a 2-year contract. Engadget also made the point that photoshopping this type of image would be incredibly easy, so be sure to take it with a grain of salt. What's interesting is that according to past rumors, we might be seeing the HTC Incredible pop up at the beginning of April as well.
Could Verizon be ushering in two new HTC Android-based smartphones this close together? That would certainly make the choice a difficult one. Who's excited to see what happens next week? Sound off in the comments below!
