Looks like AT&T is rethinking its initial idea of jacking up its data pricing. The Wall Street Journal reports that AT&T is now leaning toward positive reinforcement, instead of a negative financial slap across the face: The idea is that the carrier would offer incentives so that smartphone subscribers would voluntarily reduce their data usage, at least down to levels that the company deems “acceptable.” For the most data hungry users, that could mean using Wifi hotspots whenever possible.
Now, it’s not clear what “acceptable” means yet, but that begs the question: What kind of incentives would it take for you to cut down on your data usage?
