Details are a bit foggy at the moment, but you could be looking at the nation's first Android-powered iDEN handset, courtesy of the good folks at Motorola. Resembling a cross between a Droid and a MyTouch 3G, the Opus One could change the iDEN scene if it launches early next year (beats the pants off of the BlackBerry 7100i and BlackBerry Curve 8350i, in my book).
The first thing that goes through my mind (after the "this is nothing but pure speculation" bit) is "we're talking about a potential Android launch on a carrier's iDEN brand (Nextel) before one of the nation's largest wireless carriers picks up an Android device of their own?" Very interesting. A $50 unlimited talk/text/web Android device for use on Boost Mobile? Sounds good to me. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
