Nextel Curve 8350i user receives mysterious OS update
What happens when you receive a mystery OS that no other user is privy to?  Crackberry forums member dbontempo had just that happen to him, when he powered on his Curve 8350i and was surprised to see an available update to OS 4.6.1.295.  Funny thing is, the update isn't appearing for anyone else.  A quick Google search shows nothing, and the closest official OS to it is 4.6.1.294 (available on Telus).  Honestly, we're not sure why he's seeing a completely unknown OS, but it has been confirmed to work (sans MMS).  We'll keep you updated as we learn more.  Via Crackberry

Customer sends 662,000 text messages, hands are still intact
Surprisingly, his hands are still intact, even after sending 662,258 text messages on his iPhone 3GS in the span of one month.  What's more, he receives detailed billing, meaning that each and every text message was itemized on his bill - to the tune of over 12,000 pages.  First question: How many friends does this man have?  Second question: Who would want to send/receive that many messages?  And finally, third question: Are his fingers still functional?  Via PhoneArena

FCC approves Samsung InstinctQ M900; more Android goodness coming to Sprint
It's passed the government entity, and it's on its way to the nation's third largest wireless carrier.  Thanks to the FCC, we learned that the InstinctQ will be shipping with EVDO, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, along with Android (of course) and a full sliding QWERTY keyboard.  A full HTML browser and a microSD card slot will be available as well.  Via PhoneArena
