According to Crackberry forums member phonegeek (who just so happens to be a field tester for AT&T), the BlackBerry Onyx (Bold) 9700 has officially entered into the carrier's field testing program. According to the post, which was written on August 8th, the Onyx went into testing earlier in that week - which I would venture to guess would have been August 3rd (a Monday). The poster goes on to reference several things that he/she likes about the device; namely, the trackpad, features, and battery life.
Later in the thread, phonegeek mentions that the typical testing time for AT&T is 10-12 weeks, depending on issues found during testing. Furthermore, the company is working hard to push the device out, leading us (and phonegeek) to believe that AT&T is still on track for the rumored November launch. Good news for BlackBerry users!
