Granted, the past few weeks have been centered around iPhone 3GS and Palm Pre news, but the guys at Nokia have been working hard as well. Announced at the manufacturer's Connection 09 event in Singapore, the Nokia E72 and 5530 represents the latest move by Nokia to maintain their market share. As the obvious successor to the E71, the E72 offers a 5 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headphone jack, integrated compass, 10.2Mbps HSDPA, and an optical navigation pad. What's more, the device is said to launch with S60 FP2. Available in the third quarter, the E72 will be available for around $489.
The 5530 XpressMusic is said to be a slightly lower version of the 5800, dropping 3G and shipping with EDGE offerings only. Granted, Wi-Fi is still available, but the lack of 3G may be frustrating for some. The device offers a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, 3.5mm jack, and a 640x360 display. It will be available in the third quarter for roughly $278.
