If you?re a WinMo ?Touch? fan with Sprint, Verizon, or T-Mo, then you know the Touch Pro2 is heading your way. But what if you?re a WinMan fan on AT&T? Well, according to some ?leaked? documents, it turns out you?re getting some play too.
Codenamed "Fortress," the device will launch from AT&T in time for some summer fun. It will feature HSPA over three bands, GPS, 3.2 MP auto-focus camera, 3.6-inch WVGA display and Video Share support.
AT&T customers will also get to clap hands on the Touch Diamond2, aka ?Warhawk,? which has a 3.2-inch WVGA screen, dual-band HSDPA, GPS and Video Share. Users also get WinMo 6.5 out of the box. (Sorry Touch Pro2 fans. You get 6.1 for now, though by all accounts, you?ll get to upgrade to 6.5 later on.)
The leaked documents showed a May 25th launch date for TP2, which it has clearly blown by now, but it remains on the verge of release. So again, it should still launch in time to get some sunscreen on it. The TD2 lists a target date of August, but we?ll have to wait and see if the Warhawk lands on time.
You can buy one right now, without delay or even a carrier. HTC has launched the unlocked Touch Pro2, and it's available over at Devicewire. It?ll cost you more than $800, and since it's a UK site, you?ll have to make do without 3G, but at least you can brag about your early adopter cred.
