With all the excitement over the Pre these past couple of days, this item about the HTC Touch Pro2 nearly got overlooked.
The device, aka HTC Rhodium, looks like it will be arriving this summer. Actually, if you believe a SprintUsers.com poster called bigchico68, it will be coming to the carrier in mid-June.
Now all sorts of people say all sorts of things on messageboards, but if the blogs reported on every single whack-a-doo claim on the internet ? well, that would be insane (and impossible to wade through). And yet, at least with this, Engadget Mobile saw fit to pass the word on from WMExperts. Well, that's because there's a photo (below) that seems to corroborate it.
This joins the other leaked images of the Touch Pro2 sporting Verizon and T-Mobile logos.
Am I skeptical? Well yeah, of course. The link to the SprintUsers.com messageboard post doesn't work (at least not as of this writing). Then again, it could have been because the thread got inundated ? or maybe Sprint doesn't appreciate leaks and had them to take it down.Whatever happened, we may never know.
I?m tempted to take the leap of faith and say this is for real. I wasn't a huge fan of the original handset, but I would so love to see TP 2.0 hit the light of day, and WMExperts is pretty good about nailing their prognostications. Plus, given that so many smartphones are setting their sights on May/June, is it really that hard to believe that a WinMo phone would jump into the fray? I think not.
Between the Pre and now potentially the Touch Pro2 , as well as the QWERTastic Snap bringing up the rear in July, it looks like the next few weeks will be just stellar for Sprint customers.
