Peter over at Mobile Crunch is reporting on a rumor running on TheStreet.com this morning: Apple and AT&T are purportedly considering a $10 decrease to monthly iPhone rate plan charges. The price cut would drop the cheapest iPhone plan to $69/month for voice and data - in other words, the data surcharge would drop back to the $20/month that first-gen iPhone owners paid for their data plans.
The new pricing will be announced along with new iPhone hardware at Apple's WWDC event next month in San Francisco. If, that is, this rumor pans out.
