The tablet poised to unleash the full potential of Android is coming in the third quarter. So those of you waiting impatiently for a sexier version of the G1 - or some other excuse to splurge for Android - may want to hold off a bit. The Archos tablet will have telephony, but is much more akin to a tablet computer than a cell phone. It's referred to by Archos as an Internet Media Tablet.
So far, Archos has focused on hi-res media playback with Internet connectivity. But their Android device is set to launch the company into a new realm. If a five-inch touchscreen, Hi-Def video playback, full-screen Flash and Flash video support, hi-capacity storage, and high-speed connectivity sound good to you, be sure to take a look at Archos' existing product line. Then imagine those sexy slabs running the 'droid.
This one is will be the first Internet tablet to run Google's open source OS, and I think it's gonna be big. It will dwarf the G1 in terms of processing power, battery life, and storage. So grab your bluetooth headset and get ready to see what a monster Android truly is. (I suppose the world will know by then anyhow.)
