Wattpad just announced the availability of its new free app for the BlackBerry Storm, a couple weeks since the iPhone version debuted. If you?re the sort who enjoys underground reading material and likes having ebooks on hand at all times, the user-driven content dished up by Wattpad might be worth your while. I summed up the community this way:
...Wattpad bills itself as more of a ?YouTube-like community? that allows users to share digital books, like their own penned works, in multiple languages. But you know what happens when content is user-determined? You guessed it ? titles, like some of the Harry Potter books, start showing up. (No wonder the media's already tagged it as pirate-lit.)...
Since the iPhone incarnation launched, it's become the #4 app in the US, Canada and other countries, and the company is already promising an upcoming update via its blog. Though the Storm version of the app was created to take advantage of the BB handset's touchscreen, Wattpad also works on other Blackberries, Nokias, Sony Erickssons, and others.
