At the TED conference last month, Pattie Maes (of the really cool-sounding MIT Media Lab's new Fluid Interfaces Group) presented Sixth Sense, a wearable system that provides a Minority Report?like interface for data.
Sure, others have tried this ? like the guy who hacked a Wii-mote ? but those experiments are generally kind of rough and a bit limited in utility. Here, MIT student Pranav Mistry (the genius behind the Sixth Sense doohickey) gives us a fun look at how his device delivers a more seamless experience in a variety of settings.
The kicker is that Mistry cobbled his experiment together using currently available technology, like a cell phone, web cam, projector, etc ? all of which costs a total of $350. Seriously, that's it.
