If you?re like most of the editors here at PhoneDog, a phone loses its ?newness? after a few weeks. And, being the phone addicts that we are, we?re always after newer and greater technology. Those who are on AT&T will appreciate the new handset exchange program the company is mulling, particularly if you?re in the middle of your two-year agreement and are unhappy with your phone (or if your phone is at risk of overheating).
Phones eligible for the trade-in program must be less than two years old, and would be substituted for a $50-$200 discount off of the full retail phone. Unfortunately, you can't take your two-year subsidy and the trade-in discount at the same time. So, a great idea for those in contract, but those eligible for an upgrade may want to stick with the regular sticker price.
