I'm waiting to see how things turn out for me and my beloved G1 before dedicating any posts to my complaints about T-Mobile's exchange process. But I'd like to know about technical problems any of you have had with your G1, exchange issues with T-Mobile, or even just bad exchange experiences with other carriers. Please comment away. This can be the universal whining post.
I have detailed my story nearly up to the present in a forum thread. Before you read it, I'd like to point out that while I have run into a snag or two with T-Mo over the years, they have generally been helpful and fair. Still, when someone spends as much cash on them as I do, and is as loyal and long-term a customer as I am, it's reasonable to expect a bit of special treatment. Rather, decent treatment. Some have provided me that over the last two months, but not much more than half of those I've spoken with.
I don't think I mentioned in the forum thread
that my transferred calls have been dropped at an unusually high rate
during this... adventure. I've had a lot of bad service with a smile.
Maybe T-Mo went on a hiring spree for the G1. Maybe there are some
technical troubles that they aren't being completely open about. Perhaps
they've just got some serious issues with logistics in their Georgia
warehouse.
Whatever the case, I've gotten to that point beyond frustration where each mishap brings me a little bit of laughter and joy - mainly because I see how well some people do their jobs in comparison to others. Customer service reps don't have it easy. And the responsible ones spend a lot of time apologizing for and mopping up after the bad ones. So I want you to know, good service rep, I appreciate you. But I recognize you too, bad rep. After all, without New Kids on the Block, would MGMT matter? And more importantly, if I can approximate an analogy, does it automatically make sense?
