A source of mine confirmed that Apple's iPhone will be available at Walmart before the end of the month.  That's not really news at this point, but then again this is a fairly new source of mine, so it kind of balances out in some weird way.  Said source told me he and his fellow Walmart salespeople have been receiving training on how to activate iPhones for customers, and also said he'd heard nothing about a rumored 4GB, $99 Walmart exclusive model. 

Reports around the Web today are basically shooting the 4GB iPhone rumor down in favor of a more plausible 8GB for $197 Walmart special, representing a two dollar savings over current Apple pricing for the same model.  For what it's worth, my source also said he hasn't received any training nor heard anything else official about T-Mobile's G1 making a Walmart appearance of its own.
