Lots of great stuff happening for iPhone and iPod Touch users this week. The latest from Orb is no exception.
The media-streaming company recently launched OrbLive 2.0, an iPhone app that uses Edge, Wifi and 3G networks to dish out music, videos, photos and even documents, from a Windows PC to the user's cell phone. But let's face it: The real star of the show is being able to watch live television streamed from your own computer to that gorgeous 3-inch screen at high speeds. (FYI: You need a compatible TV tuner card installed.)
The company website boasts that there's no buffering or syncing, and you can email a special link that lets you share your media with pals. You can also remotely monitor a web cam, (so you can check in on Fido while you're at work). Once catering to game consoles for the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360, and Nokia cell phone users, Orb has become a hit among iPhone users.
I can't wait until they release this for the Mac. The company says it's working on it, and it just can't be soon enough for this media junkie. (And to think, I was on the verge of getting a Slingbox.)
