For whatever reason, I've been getting this question a lot lately: Is AT&T going to come out with a new QWERTY phone? You know, something like an enV2 or Sidekick?
Thank Goodness I can finally answer with a resounding, Yes (I think so)!
Good ol' Darren Murph at Engadget Mobile posted a photo from MustangMods.com that shows the new "AT&T UTStarcom Knick," complete with an informational card emblazoned with the RadioShack logo. The Knick looks much like a Sidekick, what with its center-mounted sliding display and hidden QWERTY board underneath. Knick's specs are pretty Sidekick-like, too, except that being an AT&T device Knick will be packin' 3G from the get-go.
Otherwise, look for Knick to feature a 1.3MP camera with video capture, GPS, mobile TV support, XM radio, Polaris Web browser, mobile EMail/IM, and stereo Bluetooth. No word yet on when this one might ship or what it might cost. But I'm thinkin' we'll see some sort of stocking stuffer fiesta of a holiday promotional campaign for this one, right?
