Sony Ericsson went ahead and got all official like with the G705, a high-end sliderphone that will see the light of day on Orange UK at the end of this year and in the U.S. in Q1 of 2009. This GSM/EDGE/3G beast will feature a 2.4" display with accelerometer, WiFi, GPS, 3.2 MP camera with video capture, Google Maps pre-installed, and a Web browser and RSS reader. SE also announced a partnership with YouTube, the fruit of which is a handy-dandy direct upload feature for all of those mobile videos you'll be recording.
The Orange version (G705u) will also be SE's first UMA device, which makes me wonder if the U.S. version might be headed to T-Mobile come early '09. T-Mo loves the UMA phones (they call 'em HotSpot @ Home) and T-Mo just started selling the SE phones, again too ... so, you know, you see what I'm thinkin' here, right?
