Today's shaping up to be a good one for digging through the FCC's
online goldmine.  New filings have outed the Samsung T919, a
T-Mobile-bound GSM/EDGE/3G device (yup!) featuring a whole slew of
features - especially if you combine what seem to be facts from the FCC
documents with rumors that kicked around the Web a few weeks back.

Best we can tell, the T919 will be a US version of the Samsung Tocco,
and will feature a 3" touchscreen with Samsung's finger-friendly
TouchWiz UI, a 5MP camera with flash, GPS, and voice command.  Again,
that's parsed together from both fact and rumor, but it all seems to
make sense - particularly given the FCC filing's mention of a full Web
browser with "touch."

Though the T919 won't be a full-on
smartphone, the hardware and TouchWiz UI should be somewhat similar to
those of the Samsung Omnia, a Windows Mobile device I've had the
pleasure of demoing for the past few weeks.  I'm really looking forward
to seeing a top-notch phone on T-Mobile, and hoping that T-Mo and Sammy
can put their heads together to roll out a quality handset with some
killer services to make good use of that new 3G network T-Mobile is
getting set to launch.  Look for this one sometime in October, I'd say,
though maybe we'll get a glimpse of it next week in San Francisco.
