JAMP
published a "Top 10 Selling Phones" list for July 2008 that's
interesting because it comes from carry case maker Krussell and
reflects total global orders for phone cases for the month. So while
it's not quite a true "Best Selling Phones" list, I'd say it does
reflect global demand for higher-end mobile phones. You've got to
figure most of the folks buying carrying cases have higher-end devices
worth shelling out extra to protect, right? Not too many low-end
pre-paid phones winding up in hoslter cases, I'd reckon.
As you
might expect, Apple's newly released iPhone 3G tops the list. Funny, I
never bothered with a case for my first-gen iPhone since it has the
most scratch-proof display I've ever seen on a mobile device ... but
that's just me. The rest of the list is printed below, but what I find
interesting is that four Sony Ericsson handsets made the cut, including
the brand new C902 and C702 models. That's pretty good for a company
that's taken all kinds of hits lately due to poor earnings and delayed
launches. Reminds me I gotta get my hands on one of those C902s (or,
better yet, C905s) to see what's really goin' on in SE-land.
