The iPhone-dev team's done it again. PwnageTool 2.0.1 has been released to the public, which means folks like me can upgrade our old, unlocked iPhones to the new software at long last.
In the words of the team themselves, PwnageTool 2 "jailbreaks and unlocks older iPhones, and jailbreaks iPhone 3Gs and iPod Touches. We only support the 2.0 firmwares." Currently the tool will NOT unlock iPhone 3Gs, and it's Mac only, though there is a Windows method available for the more stout of heart out there (you can explore it over at Engadget Mobile).
As always, you're entirely on your own and doing this at your own risk. We take no responsibilities for your actions - or the health of your iPhone - should you click the links, download the software, and proceed. That said, I'm about to plug my iPhone in and try to Pwn it, so I'll let you know what happens. Thanks dev team!
