I just got word from a friend of mine in Providence, RI who was thinking about picking up an iPhone 3G today. "Man, I can't believe how naive I am sometimes," he said over the phone. "I figured, yeah, cool, I need a new phone, I'll go for it and get the iPhone. Sold out all over the place. Providence, Warwick, Cranston, Boston - nobody's got one left." He was referring specifically to the AT&T outlets in the area, and this jibes with some other reports I've read of AT&T stores being understocked and/or only selling part of their stock today in order to have more on hand to do it all over again tomorrow.
The Apple hype machine is in full overdrive, folks. Question is, how long will you have to wait to get an iPhone 3G?
If you've been in line at an Apple or AT&T store today, or know someone who has, post a comment with your report. Where'd you go, how long was the line, and did you get one or did they sell out?
