Yesterday Nokia announced two new entry level phones the Nokia 2600 Classic and the Nokia 1209, both are targeted at emerging markets. At a fair retail price of $94, the 2600 classic includes a couple of extra features one wouldn't expect to see on an entry level phone like an FM radio, VGA camera with video record capability and support for 80 languages along with a much needed expense manager.
The 1209's claim to fame is its cheap price of $50 and its ability to support up to five different users. The phone is geared more towards the first time buyer with features like prepaid tracker, cost management applications, built in flashlight and support for up to 200 phone book entries per person.
Next we have the Nokia 7900 Crystal Prism - beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder with this model. The phone's OLED display shows off its modern digital art wallpapers inspired by Frédérique Daubal (Who?). The phone is set to launch sometime in Q1 for 375 Euros ($547.00 US) and features a 2.0 megapixel camera, 1GB of internal memory and 3G technology for speedy downloads.
