This was the question I was asked the other day by a close friend of mine. So after about two minutes of researching on the internet I would have to say - yes. As the ?mobile office? trend continues to evolve we are likely going to see consumers paying for mobile broadband products and services to keep them connected and productive.

This creates a problem for landline broadband service providers. Why would anyone continue to spend money for home access when they can just as easily share a mobile service plan? With a decrease in unlimited mobile broadband prices combined with the ever increasing landline rates there really isn't a way to justify paying for both services.

It's only a matter of time as more cities get access to 3G, EVDO and HSPDA high speed data services that we will see devices like the D-Link Mobile router (as seen below) replace your existing router/modem. And then we can finally say goodbye to all of those extra wires and cables = ; ^ )
