The more we seem to know about Google's maiden voyage into the cellular space, the less it seems we know.  First it was a smartphone and a network, then just a smartphone, then a bunch of smartphones, then a "mere" smartphone operating system to be licensed out ... And now the latest is that the gPhone is once an again an actual phone.  But a non-smartphone.  But a non-smartphone with a special "gButton."

Confused?

USA Today ran an article citing a few industry analysts' claims about what Google's up to, and one of 'em thinks it's a low tech handset with a dedicated button to drive SMS queries of Google's vast databases.  The answers, of course, would come wrapped in Google Ads optimized for mobile screens.

Of course, in the very next paragraph USA Today mentions another analyst saying that an advanced gPhone "with a Google browser optimized to display Google services such as Gmail and YouTube videos" is already in the works, as well.  Ahh, analysts.
