Motorola held a special event in New York City this morning at which they unveiled the RAZR 2 along with a handful of other new(ish) mobile handsets.  The successor to one of the most popular cell phones of all time, RAZR 2 is 2mm thinner than the original but boasts a stronger and sleeker housing along with an internal QVGA display, external 2" display with touch controls, 2mp camera, Bluetooth, microSD card slot(except V8), noise reduction technology, and a retooled UI running Moto's Liux/Java platform.  Set for a summer launch, the RAZR 2 will come in three models: V8 for GSM/EDGE, V9 for HSDPA, and V9m for CDMA. 

Moto also showed off the Z8 Symbian "Kick Slider," ROKR Z6 Linux/Java Music slider, Q8 and Q9 smartphones, and MING touschreen clamshell.  All of these handsets had been announced and/or displayed previously at tradeshows.
