In a meeting and can't make a call, but need to get a message home to the kids? Well, with Sprint, customers can now send text messages directly to any U.S. landline phone. Announced today, Sprint's new Text to Landline messaging service allows for your text message to be sent to a landline phone number and converted into a voice recording for the recepient answering the other end. A reply can be sent by recording a voice message, or with a preset text message response.
"With Text to Landline, Sprint customers can quickly touch base with someone on a landline phone, even when a voice call might not be convenient," said John Styers, director of product marketing for messaging and imaging, Sprint. "As more and more people begin to rely on text, IM and chat services for quick communication, this offering is just one more way that Sprint is making sure our customers have a wide range of options to meet all their messaging needs."
To be eligable for this messaging service with Sprint, customers must have a two-way text-messaging capable phone. Regular text messaging rates will apply, but the process is simply. Enter your recepients 10 digit landline number and type your message. Text to landline is another addition to Sprint's large selection of messaging services which include International text messaging, voice SMS, mobile chat communities and much more.
