Motorola DROID Turbo 4K sample footage

All the footage you see in front of you is from the new DROID Turbo for Verizon. It was recorded in 4K Ultra HD at 24fps. And I just wanted to give you guys a little bit of glimpse of what kind of quality this camera can produce. The phone as a whole is an absolute specked beast as I’ve said multiple times already now. But it features a large 20.7MP camera sensor so you think in terms of megapixels, that this camera is one of the more advanced on the market.

Well as you can see, that’s not really always the case. Yes, this camera has a lot of megapixels but the quality, as you can see, is just alright. There are a few areas where it could have room for improvement.

As you can see, the color reproduction is okay at best. Everything appears rather dull and slightly muted. The saturation really just isn’t there. It’s kind of at the point where colors aren’t even that accurately represented. They’re almost under saturated at times, which is pretty unusual. Usually we see the other sort of thing happening.

There were also some signs of exposure issues and fading when capturing in direct sunlight. It’s not that bad but it is noticeable. Also, there’s no Optical Image Stabilization so this footage is a little bit shaky. I was trying to hold it as steady as possible too.

Now overall, I’m not saying this camera is bad. I actually don’t think we’ve seen a smartphone that records “bad 4K footage.” It’s just not up to par with some of the other phones like the Note 4, which I might upload sample footage as well if you guys want to see something like that. Definitely let me know.

But what do you guys think? Do you like the quality of this video footage? Let me know what your thoughts are by leaving me a comment down below. Either way, hopefully this unaltered raw 4K footage from the DROID Turbo enlightened you a little bit.
