Ok so first of all i come from a Nokia N8 which indidn't like at all.Laggy, random crashes, the only good thing was the camera....Now my 4S does everything for me, and it's simply so pleasant to use.Definitely worth the money. The display is fantastic, the ppi is great i can't see a single pixels on the screen, colors are natural enough.I had no drop call or reception drop, looks like the antenna gate has been improved. The design...well let's say that for me it's not a problem because i never drop my phone, i have 2 cases for it,i love the way my 4S looks! The loudpeaker is simply EXCELLENT, you feel like you have a quality phone in your hands, sounds loud enough, the bass and music voices are in a harmony, so yeah, perfect media capabilities. The web browser, very good despite the Adobe Flash which is important to me..yeah.The camera is great and definitely better than Nokia N8's.This phone saved me,lol, i must say, in terms of smoothness And UI the 4S will be happyness for you!:) i love mine, since i got it,no problem at all....Cheers friends!
I love the design and the user interface . Reception is great , beautiful Super AMOLED display ,decent picture quality , fast performance, easy root capabilitys , durabile . i found two dounsides two : problems with haptik feedback in the keyboard , zooming in pictures , don't like this zooming in stages .
It's a great phone, it's good for a person who is cteative:) I use to have the iPhone 4 and I like the galaxy waaaay better! The iPhone doesn't even offer u to have Widgets and that's really important. My phone is extremely fast! I love it!
Really wish we could get ICS for this bad boy but otherwise, this is one of the best dual core phones out there. Really wish the batter was bigger-as I'm struggling with that right now.
i love my HTC Sensation it's an all around great phone with ice cream sandwich on it's way...
I Hope with ICS it will get even Better! This Phone is the Bomb!
It the best smartphone currently available
it just needs an ics update to make it ultra best lol
fun phone, fast on let, 4.0 in nice in stock with out and UI
A great phone, would be the best if it had a higher resolution display, the exinos processor and better build quality which all should be present with the yet to be announced galaxy s3
I switched from Galaxy Nexus to Galaxy Note. The reason being, the note is a whole lot flashier to look at.
For an average user, it might be too big. I find the note perfect for me, though, because I have bad eye sight. This is great when I can actually see, even though I have to use both my hands. But hey, we all should use our bodies more often anyway. The phone is fast, software is quite mature, despite being hindered by touch wiz. The design of the note have some down sides, though minor. If you put a case on this thing to protect it, the phone only gets bigger. Beware, It will make your phone beyond pocket-able.
love the display and the battery life,, i am using the international version and it is just awesome.. i am an editor and its great for me as i can watch movies on the go and makes my stuff much more easier...
Why this phone ?
I had an Samsung Galaxy i3, which was running on Eclair, began to slow down with the load of applications. I had an bigger pocket to buy an high end smart phone.
This time I was not narrow minded towards Android, with iPad at home was very impressed with IOS, decided to pick iPhone 4s when it launches in India. The pricing by the network operators were abusrd, totally out of my budget. With that money could have got an descent lens kit for my camera. Then, my attention came over to Windows phone. loved the design and the new OS (7.5) as Nokia came out with Lumia, it had almost convinced me to buy, but without the front facing camera I felt its huge draw back. I was quite surprised to see Nokia dropping the front camera, even though I don't spend doing video calls but I use Skype.
Then my search began over Android phones, I had narrowed it down to Samsung Galaxy S2, Motorola Droid Razr and Galaxy Nexus. Dad wanted an smart phone, he went ahead and bought S2, Its sleek, amazing speed, but what lacked is the fluid interface, was not really that imprssed with touch wiz.
Motorola Droid, in my opionion is the best looking smart phone in Android market. With gingerbread running, the phone was super fast, the motoblur interface too was clean and soft. The disadvantage here was the battery was not removable and it had mixed reviews about the battery consumption.
Display- it h
as an Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors. Its stunning to have this in your hand. Even though its 4.65 inches, it does'nt seem that big in your hand. As the previous models of Nexus phones it also has a contour display, ie a slight curve near the end of the display. Some say it gives a nice feeling during calls. I don't think so, its just an desgin feature.
Camera- 5 MP, 2592x1944 pixels, autofocus, LED flash. I don't shoot photos from phones, I mostly use my SLR kit, was not very particular about the camera feature. The big difference you find in Galaxy nexus- ICS is the camera software, fast, responsive and its ZERO shutter lag. Samsung have put in some great optics in the phone but might have dissapointed us on the mega pixel value its only 5MP. But its not always the mega pixels that matter. Will post few photos in my next post.
OS- Icecream Sandwich- android 4.0 The hightlight and the X factor about this phone, was completely blown away with the interface and features. This is an massive improvement from Gingerbread and Honeycomb.ICS gets new fonts, fantastic design. One thing you notice is there are no hardware keys on the front, looks very attractive. After ICS, I dont feel like using any other OS, so much fluidity and crispy. Its almost best as IOS. Swiping off applications on multitasking is classy and orientation is
sleek. The software keys disappear in camera mode or other apps, which gives full view of the task under operation. With pure vanilla interface, I dint find any need of installing any launcher to enhance the interface. ICS itself is smarter and fluid. I can easily say that this is the best mobile OS I have come across.
I own GSM ( unlocked phone) which does not include any pre-installed apps. It came with few google apps. Worth mentioning is the Gmail, it looks real and functuions better. Setting up google account was in few seconds and did amazing job to sync my contacts. Maps are quick and accurate. The voice search which is quite a buzz, I dint feel much of an advantage here. G+ is preinstalled and have used it couple of times, works well. So no Twitter, Facebook installed on this phone, you can download it from market. Google music allows you to downaload music from PC . We have to wait for google music to launch in India to experince remote syncing.
Chipset- TI OMAP 4460
CPU- Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9.
Rest of the specification s can be seen on the above link.
Applications- As of now only few apps have been upgraded to ICS. Twitter and foursquare works clean and peace, no lags. But the weather and 3D digital clock widget found very little lags.
Memory- Comes with 16GB and 32Gb memory. No SD slot.
Battery- Standard battery, Li-Ion 1750 mAh. quite disappointed here. Most users complain about the battery life but surprisingly its fair enough. I've been using S2 from past two months, it lasts for 21 hours with normal usage and off late S2 gets heated up. I had minimum expectations about battery lif on Galaxy Nexus but quite happy with it. I've not drained my battery to just check its usage, I've used it accordingly here are some of the results-
On normal usage that is wifi used for downloading apps, few calls, maps usage, few minutes of music, constant messaging and standby for almost 5 hours - the battery lasted for around 26 hours ( showing 5% left)
Usage 2- with same functions as above but standby time is 1 hours lasted 23 hours.
Usage 3- No Wifi and just continous calls and texts, battery lasted around 25.5 hours.
Samsung have managed to provide a descent back panel and side keys but I found the back panel very plastic and flimsy. I recommend to buy an gel case.
Speed- I can't say much about same speed as I'am currrently on 2G network but when tested for browser speed on wifi network between s2 and Galaxy Nexus it was found Nexus loaded faster and better scrolling without lags.
Conclusion- Is the best smartphone in the present market ? Probably YES, with a close competation to iPhone 4s.
Who should not buy ?
Who likes fancy specifications like 8MP camera, quadcore processor, big screen, big memory. etc
Simple looking phone with great features. Well done Android ! Thumbs up for ICS.
Pros: awesome screen, both size and resolution
Battery is fantastic especially for an android device
S pen is there and sometimes useful
Cons: a little big, but I've come to love it
Androids sooo close with gingerbread to a polished up experience close to comparable to apples iOS BUT still a bit of work to do. Can't wait to see ICS and beyond
This is the first phone I've left the iPhone for and have no desire to go back to it..
I'm a happy customer
The software makes this phone. Not to say its got bad hardware (not by any means). I really love this phone and anyone who is interested should definetely check it out at there local verizon retailer.
Pros:
Beautiful screen, very fast, feels good in the hand, 4g, etc
Cons:
Battery life, have to wait longer than expected for 4.0
I love this phone, the screen, especially, constantly amazes me.
great screen apps are more mature on ios needs a bigger screen but its a good phone
