Most things are excellent on this device, probably the best phone on the market right now (unless you need a physical keyboard). The only shortcoming is that the voice call quality is not as good as one of my old feature phones.
I've been using an HTC One X for the past 3 weeks and, man o' man, what an amazing device. Exciting to use and fast LTE speed. Android has come a long way, fully matured, Ice Cream Sandwich is great. Yes I'm very satisfied.
I got my S3 yesterday and thusfar I am very happy with it. Call reception did seem to be a little better with my Droid X in the areas I tried calls but for the most part it is a definite upgrade from that. The size of it is a little bigger than id have liked and I really think a 4.3 or smaller display really is a sweet spot for most people. I have pretty large hands so the larger handset feels good. I did put a silicone case on it and that adds to the bulk but in my hand out of a case it felt really comfortable and good.
I am not sure yet if I am a big fan of TouchWiz yet but oh well thats what other launchers are for.
Updated... Im within a day or so of returning this phone. Reception and Call Quality and the large number of complaints I see about the Wireless performance of this device have me within a day or two of returning this as I have a corporate account I have 30 days. Ive tried to do all the resets and even got a new SIM card and still have terrible reception. In a major market near where I live in the VZN store both Motorola and HTC phones had 5 bars I had 3... The distances I travel aren't going to make this phone Viable in the least. Probably going to return this in favor of the HTC rezound..
Second UPdate: This phone is now being put into the hopper with VZN and will probably become a refurbished device for someone else to try to live with. I ended up having little choice as I needed a phone and all I was cleared to spend was 200 bucks so It was the razr or the rezound. Removable/upgradable battery and a better display than the razr gave this one to the Rezound. I really wish it would have worked out with the S3 but what can I say a phone better be a phone first and not a fluffy gadget if I am using it for work. As a personal phone I probably would have kept it but I travel around the area a lot for work and I just need to be reachable..
I've taken to this phone more than past Android ones. While now more than ever you can't go wrong with ANY OS, the iPhone is simple, easy, and heavily supported. And I like knowing that updates are always around the corner and provided directly from Apple. I think the most overlooked feature of an iPhone is the numerous accessories. I'm pretty sure I can dock this thing to my Grandma. Keep it up Apple, Android and Windows Phone! We all benefit from each other.
Most sites are putting down One X for Galaxy S3 for differences that most user will never notice. I would strongly suggest to not to relay on these irrelevant stats and nitpicking. Try yourself because if you never try you'll never know ;)
-Gorgeous display, colors pop and the size does it justice.
-I haven't had any dropped calls but I had some static once with Customer Care.
-Battery lasts me a little less than a day of heavy usage, however I have a needed car charger and a USB cord at work for idle charge.
-Most people don't like the back cover, it's flimsy, but when on the phone or in a case you don't notice it PERIOD! Camera and Flash are PERFECT!
-In Samsung Apps, you have a Video Editor, Photo Editor that just works perfectly with the phone.
-SIDE NOTE! Headset doesn't have designated S-Voice button, S-Voice also does not open Google Play Music, but if S-Voice gets replaced with Google Now, it'll become even better.
People talk way to much trash that galaxy s3 beats this phone when they dont even compete in the same category. Now this phone is stunning the display is gorgeous the camera hmm the camera is by far the best camera on a smartphone that ive used in years battery life is really good and that 1.5ghz processor is really fast and the beats audio is a bonus the device is really really thin and this phone deserves to be in the top 5!!!This phone is very very good and the premium built quality is incredible
breathtaking HD display, built-in high quality beats audio, LTE connectivity and a great user experience through ice cream sandwich atop sense 4.
I have really enjoyed my SG3. It's very light, incredible color and graphics. I really like the PIP option when I am watching videos. The customizable features for colors of text, web, home screens, etc is amazing. I like making it my own, I mean I did buy to own it unlike Apple where I paid to be owned.
CONS: That the brightness on the web goes really low just when that part is opened. I still wish that there was a better music player, but it's getting better.
In my opinion at present this is the best smartphone in the market. it's design and build quality truly stands out from the others. The camera is top notch and the retina display is super smooth and fun to use. The touch screen interface is the awesome and still the best. The processor is pretty fast and there's hardly any lag while switching between multiple apps. The app store is pretty loaded as well. The best part is the voice controller assisstant Siri which makes the tasks easier and it's totally fun using it. The call quality and reception is excellent. The battery life is pretty good and may last upto 8-10 hrs with both making/recieving calls and also playing games and using multiple apps.
The only area where this phone lacks is no LTE support yet. But if you are using the more in house or a wi-fi enabled place then it should not be much concern.
Final say - I will give this phone a good 4.8/5 and would recommend you to get this phone if you dont have it yet.
This is a really great phone. The issue with battery life that most people have is easily solved. Just allow the Ion to die, all the way to 0%, then charge to 100% without use. Do this at least once and you can get 11+ hours out of your phone. everything else is great, ICS would be nice, but it isn't a big deal. This phone is the best android device for the price ($50 at the Sony outlet!).
It have Beats audio support, the display is very HD, battery life is very nice, the design is very thin and light and the app and media is very good.
