The S5 is a remarkable phone with improvements across the board from the S4. It is extremely responsive, has a much improved camera, is light weight, and has a much brighter screen than its predecessor. The fingerprint scanner works great (when you learn to swipe it right) and the water resistant case gives you great piece of mind. It has the fastest WiFi of any phone i have tested and its 4G out shined my HTC One M8. The Only negatives i would say are that the speaker is still cheap and unimpressive and the indoor camera performance (though better than the S4) is not at the same level as the outdoor shots.
As a big fan and user of the HTC One M7, the M8 in my opinion is a worthy successor to the top rankings of the mobile throne. I was very suspicious of the battery m 're claims by HTC as the M7 had poor battery compared to many... But I have not been disappointed! 12 hours of consistent use per day on average is great performance for me. The return of the SD slot and even further-refined build make this phone my favourite overall.
The all new HTC One M8 is the perfect combination of style, feel, and function. The softer, smooth, all metal shell feels great and is a joy to hold in your hand. It's one of those pieces of technology that you love to just hold onto.
Call quality is great. The noise cancelling feature is steller. I have not had a phone call yet that I could not hear. The Boom Sound speakers make for nice, clear conference calls. I can use this phone at the office for conference calls in a smaller conference room.
The battery life is steller!!! I used navigation for about 45 minutes yesterday along with moderate data and phone use throughout the day and I still had 20% life left when I went to bed. My M7 would have been out of juice by 8pm with that same usage.
I was very concerned about the rounded corners and the boarder of metal around the entire phone. I liked the design of the M7 with the edge to edge material on the face of the phone. Not to worry....the new M8 is still a very sleek and nice design. It is getting compliments all around as I show it off at work and to friends.
As with most reviews, I think the phone is a little too tall and the bezel is not that great. The HTC logo on the face is not needed and takes up too much room.
I am going naked for now, not putting any type of cover on the phone since HTC is offering 6 months of screen breakage protection. I love the feel of the phone and would hate to cover the awesome design with a shell of any kind.
Best phone ever. Period.
The camera is perfect.
The display is amazing.
Totally worth the money.
Love the Phones design and the software works perfect as it should. Camera is great for sharing and day to day use..
I too have had Tracfones for many years, have provided phones and service for family and friends.
But....my latest experience has made me think about leaving them all in the trash!
I Added 180 minutes to my newest phone..ZTE Valet (not bad--Android) April 5th, receiving the text verification from them of my balances--over 1100 in Phone, Text and Data. No problem.
On April 7th, when I tried to use the phone...All Banks were ZERO!
Spent the next 3 days on the phone...person after person...having to explain everything again and again, even though They provided me a reference number And ticket number (don't they keep records?!)...and each person making assurances that my balances would be restored.
Nothing. The last call...they wanted to 'give' me 120 minutes! I refused...wanted All the minutes that they Stole from me, which they denied doing, or course!
So....Thieves and Liars, Tracfone.
Over 1100 previously paid-for minutes....gone! And they don't care!
I am done with these morons!
^^X^^
Before i get onto praising the efforts of LG with this magnificent phone, i would like to comment on the fact that i am coming from iPhone and Samsung, leaders in their own rights. My most recent phone was Note 3 which was equally brilliant and giving it up was a very hard decision. thankfully i never had to regret my decision as LG is with me for last couple of months and m running outta all the excuses to swap it with something else...lets say the ALL NEW HTC ONE perhaps.....
I'm actually really surprised that T-Mobile is getting bad reviews on this site. It has great reviews on most other phone sites. They always have the newest phones available, they have competitive pricing, and their customer service is GREAT. They all speak perfect English and are super helpful. I called them asking to get a couple extra days to pay my bill, and they gave me 10 days with no problem. I love T-Mobile.
If you want a great complete experience with a phone get the HTC One M7... if you want something better get the HTC One M8. The M8 does everything you need it to do and does it well. The build quality is the best in the business and has really set a new standard for high quality design for a smartphone. I found that last years model was some what of a finger print magnet. The M8 is not the same monster. I have the gun metal grey and I do not have the same issues with finger print, smudges or scuffs. Sense 6 is really great. Its clean snd simple which goes back to the sense 3 and 4 iterations that everyone loved before it started to get bulky and feature heavy. Its clean and very useful again.
While most people will say the lack of 8+ megapixel camera is a negative, I would challenge that. Its a really solid camera great for party pictures and low light shots. HTC Zoe is a great camera feature, if you love taking trips or going to events, this is the must have camera feature.
Blinkfeed is awesome if you love to know what is going on in the word for any industry including social media or even from your own calenders. Boomsounds is mush better, My issue with the sound on the M7 was the range of sound was very small. The sound went from loud to really loud. The M8 has a great range of sounds and is much more clear and actually get louder then last years HTC One.
Battery life is much better then the M7. the HTC UI has done a great job in power management. I can easily go through the whole day with one charge. That is with auto brightness on, steady work email and gmail getting pushed to my phone and also heavy usage on top of constant email and social media refreshes.
The HTC M8 does a really great job of providing a great quality experience for users. The M7 was a great device and most sites have agreed. One first sight of the M8 you don't see much of an update but after using the M8 for a few days I can see HTC really make a good quality update to a classic device.
The 1520 combined with our company SharePoint and my OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) really delivers the tablet I've been needing. Ever since Windows mobile integrated Office, I've been able to pull up, review and forward all my documents and pictures very easily, it the 1520 takes this a major step forward by allowing me to really read these documents and even show PowerPoint presentations to one other person very easily.
I'm really enjoying the Nokia 1520.
I've been hardcore on android devices for about 4 years. after I went to college I've been using OSX a lot in my design classes. I figured life would become better switching over so when I picked up my new Mac Pro, I also upgraded my Galaxy S Epic to the Iphone 5s which was a HUGE UPGRADE and the speed I get is 20x better than my old androids I've had. While I did prefer the display on my epic as well as the keyboard There are several addons one can get for the 5s to give it a keyboard and the display even while not as good i still enjoy it and the size is just in the spot im used to!
I cant even say enough about camera quality... it takes better video and pictures than most of my cameras do... and I paid more for them!
The battery life at first was absolutely non existent... I would go from 70%-40% in no less than 30 minutes.... however after much tweaking to the settings my phone lasts the whole day no issues.
For media support nothing makes it easier than itunes! working with SD cards was one thing that bugged me about my android... example wanting to grab a picture or mp3 off of it... now I just sync drag and drop and the improvement is amazing.
For the design its top quality a true high end phone... as such I bought an Otterbox Defender for it... Phones like this you drop them and they crack.. im not taking risks.
For reception and call quality im gonna provide some multi-feedback. I used both wifi and 4g to test this.... With sprint my service quality dies in and out a lot depending where I am.. but using something like skype premium to call people on home wifi the quality is near flawless on both ends so I have no complaints.
In short I have to say if you know your way around this can be a great phone! if your using a Mac you will really quickly notice the benefit to picking one of these up!
this is the only phone in the market which give us the thought that we are in future.
I have owned and enjoyed HTC1, Galaxy's 3, and 4 yet none compare to the battery life, accuracy, photo clarity, clear phone calls of the Note 3. Fast efficient, and the best phone I've owned, The only thing negative about this phone is when on a call the end call button is so large at times it touches my cheek and shuts down phone call. I've found the flip cover to be perfect for making phone calls and avoiding this problem.
AWESOME PRODUCT DESIGN, PREMIUM BUILD CONSTRUCTION, GREAT SHARP DISPLAY, FAST PROCESSOR, GREAT CAMERA!!
