The only downside is that a few of the major apps are on the way but not yet available. I'm guessing they will be ready for the usa launch.
Amazing smartphone. Nokia is back with a vengeance.
I've been using the Z10 for the last 2 weeks and find it to be fantastic. Battery life is not as good as older Blackberries but word is that the next update will help battery life. Keyboard is amazing! Hub is so convenient. App selection is not great but its getting better. For me not having all of the apps is not a deal breaker. Skype is coming and word is instagram is online as well.
The first phone I own since a couple of months and still in love with it, its a great phone that I find smaller today than the day I bought it, if you're looking for a very capable, smooth in a daily use and a beautiful phone so its the one for you!
There are still a few of the major apps missing, but for some, the browser more than makes up for that lack. Virtual keyboard works well, and swiping up the predictive text makes input a breeze! Camera does a decent job, and the built-in effects are fun.
I'd been prepared to go with a Galazy S3 if the Z10 didn't live up to expectations, but Blackberry has exceeded my expectations with this phone. Looking forward to promised updates and apps!
I have had my Z10 for two weeks and have yet to turn it off. Each night before I go to bed I simply plug it in for a recharge. It hasn't even crashed.
I would consider myself a heavy user of this phone and so far it is outperforming any of the other phones I've had, which includes the IPhone 4s and the Galaxy S3.
the big screen makes daily use more enjoyable
The Galaxy S III is still the best Android smartphone. Great media support, killer form factor , great battery life (personal experience), and the improved TouchWiz make it an excellent device without the problem of being too big like the Note 2.
I can say that... I've use a lot of smart phones....from palm pre....iPhone....and a bunch of android phone.....all are great but didn't quite live up to what I wanted...like bigger crisp screen...tons of useful features...bigger battery.....and when the help of android.....I can use this for everything a smartphone is suppose to and well....
love it, it's fast, like the camera, the only thing is the display color that is not bright enough but over all love it
So I picked this device up early compared to others; I was lucky enough to buy it in time to receive it in early December. It's now February and I am glad I bought it. Prior to this device I've only used iPhones, but holy **** I'm glad I jumped ship. This phone is absolutely amazing.
Now I'm not going to bore you with how many awesome things it does, because frankly most phones these days do exactly the same types of the things, albeit at different speeds and price points. But I want to cover quickly the things about this device that bug me.
FIRST, the back is glass, which is annoying because it is unlocked and therefore difficult to replace in the event it cracks and/or breaks. LG should send you a new one (as long as they honor the warranty, which they should) but with current demand that might take a while.
SECOND, no LTE. I am fortunate enough not to live in Canada, or somewhere else where the Nexus 4 formally supported LTE (prior to the 4.2.2 update), and I never got to use the LTE functionality. Now had it been included, sure speeds would be quicker, but the device probably would have cost more and would have shit(tier) battery life. Besides, in my area near Seattle, my HSPA+ speeds on AT&T are more than enough.
THIRD, battery life. At first, it totally sucked. But over time, it improved greatly. It seems that leaving WiFi and Bluetooth on at all times seems to help (for whatever reason). I make it through the day most times, but you have to be conservative. If you are a businessman who relies on heavy smartphone use, look at the Note II (and possible a root to get rid of Touchwiz).
Overall, I love my Nexus 4, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm looking forward have immediate updates in the future, one of my favorite things about this device. If you got some money burning a hole in your pocket, look no further.
Just need to add Netflix, Instagram , Skype, and it's the best.
With the Nexus 4, Google and LG has really outdone themselves. The 4.7-inch screen is the perfect balance between screen real-estate and pocketablility. Battery life has been amazing in my experiences, I easily get 16 to 18 hours a day with moderate usage. As sexy and amazing the design of the phone is, the glass backing worries me. With the Galaxy Nexus' plastic backing, I was allowed to use it without a case and feel completely comfortable that way, but I can't have that same peace of mind with the glass back on the Nexus 4. I'm using the Nexus 4 on t-mobile and reception has been decent. I occasionally lose signal when I go to the suburbs, where my college campus resides. I blame this on t-mobile, not the Nexus 4, seeing that other t-mobile phones also lose signal in the same general area. The lack of a micro SD card slot, removable battery, and LTE might turn others off though. Honestly, 16 GB is more than enough for me with Google Play Music and Google Drive as reliable options. The battery life on the phone is already amazing, so I don't need to constantly switch out batteries like I did with the Galaxy Nexus. The lack of LTE doesn't bother me one bit. I never used LTE on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus because of the battery drain and t-mobile's speeds are fine for me. All in all, with the price Google is asking for the Nexus 4 and what it delivers, the Nexus 4 is a must buy in my book.
So far so good, I have had this phone for one complete week and still learning it but I love love love it.
