So happy to have this phone, thanks HTC for producing such a phone.
It's not just a bigger screen, though, as the iPhone 5's display embeds the touch components with the actual pixels, removing a layer from the old screen. As well as being thinner, the new screen is brighter with higher colour saturation. Compared side-by-side with an iPhone 4S, we really noticed the difference with the iPhone 5 looking a lot more vibrant, with more pleasing colours. The screen is evenly lit and viewing angles are excellent, with the display easy to see from any angle. A 16:9 display also makes more sense if you're watching a lot of TV programmes or films on your phone, as the screen better suits the aspect ratios typically used, leading to a reduction or complete removal of black bars.
While Apple used to be a way ahead of the competition in resolution, we're seeing more Android phones with full 720p displays. The trade-off is that these Android devices typically have a larger screen with a slightly lower PPI. As we see it, a larger screen will give you more resolution, but you'll lose some of the pocketability of the iPhone 5, so it's a matter of choosing what is most important to you.
I find a new useful feature each day. There are some that you may not use everyday, but when you need it. You'll be glad it was available, air gestures, voice commands, transfers. I am a pretty heavy user. Disconnect from charger at 6 a.m. and at about 10% battery at 6 p.m.
This phone is designed for one thing, that is getting things done and that is exactly what it does. It has the best out-of-the-box unified unified inbox, Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare, LinkedIn. It has a better multitasking system than the rotten fruit and the broken robot. It comes with DropBox and Box. The stock browser has highest HTML5 rating, with Flash support out-of-the-box. There is also build in photo editor and movie make.
I have been a Lumia 900 user and all I can say is that this phone really is a big step up from the previous generation of Windows Phones. The screen of the 920 is absolutely gorgeous, it's bright and rich. But I enjoyed the screen of my 900 more, they should have sticked to AMOLED displays because they are more energy efficient (huge difference in battery life with my 900), have more saturated colors and more rich. Not to say that the 920's display is bad, it is absolutely stunning. Battery life with the 920 is just horrible with high brightness, 3G, NFC and WiFi all turned on, With heavy usage I was only able to make it through HALF the day (a good 6-8 hours). Gaming only drains the battery more, with a life expectancy not exceeding even 4 hours. Design is where this bad boy simply triumphs over other phones. My black 920 may not be as colorful and as shiny as the other variants, but it is still definitely a head turner. The industrial design is just absolutely magnificent and the weight is no issue at all (I am a small teenager), I could carry this easily with one hand at long periods of time. The phone feels really good in the hand, unlike the Lumia 900. Media and app support is fantastic. I receive updates almost weekly and I found all the apps I needed.
In short, this phone is great. It's definitely not for everybody, but it's a fantastic phone that I'm sure a lot of people will love if they gave it a chance.
HTC always produce a better phone in term of design , sound quality , performance as well friendly UI
Software upgrades will only make this phone near perfect
I had a note one and upgraded to the s3.after a weeks use i threw that in the cupboard and was back on the note again . I Then bought the note 2 and ever since have been as happy as a pig in mud.I love the size! Can't wait to get the note 3.
The Xperia Z is my first smart phone and I'm very impressed with it. So far I've been using it for the last month and a half and there's nothing I can find that makes it in-superior to other top tier android phones (GS4 and HTC one).
The display on it is really nice. With 1080p resolution and a large 5 inch screen it delivers excellent video and photo viewing. Compared to other phones it is most similar to the Samsung galaxy s4 except the S4 does boast more saturated colours due to the super amoled. However the more realistic colours on the LCD screen may suit some people more than the oversaturated S4.
Also the bravia 2 engine does a magnificent job of adding more colour to people?s faces and to increase the overall look of objects.
Whist the specs on this phone do look a little weak in comparison to the S4 and HTC one I haven't noticed any slowdowns or lagging on the phone. It is extremely responsive thanks to the quad core 1.5 cpu. Furthermore don?t feel like you?re losing much with android 4.1 jelly bean in comparison to the new 4.2 as I believe most upgrades were simply bug fixes. Another point brought up is the LTE connectivity on this phone however currently in Australia this phone is being offered by providers with LTE connectivity at a good price
The build quality and look of this phone was one of the main reasons I got it. The glass back and front look extremely good as well as the overall square look to it. It boasts very modern look and I would argue I actually prefer the glass look over the aluminium of the HTC one. Also it's completely water proof up to half an hour submerged. This isn't necessarily too practical but is a welcome addition.
The camera, being a 13mp exmor takes excellent photos when light is very strong. In comparison to the HTC, in daylight the 13mp destroys the 4 ultra-pixel camera however night time photos do look sharper on the ultra-pixel camera due to its ability to take in morel light. The superior auto mode is also a very practical feature doing all the work of knowing which settings to choose for the perfect picture.
Perhaps the most overlooked aspect of this phone is its audio capability. I love listening to my music and listen to it about an hour a day and moving from an ipod with specific limited EQ's to the Sony's clean audio feature is just ridiculous. The clean audio cleans up the song enhances bass and also enhances the higher frequencies for all those guitar solos. In regards to headphone jack however it is quite annoying for it to be behind a flap and I felt I had to buy a NFC enabled wireless headphones for the extra comfort.
In summary the Sony Xperia Z does not just stand its ground against the S4 and HTC one it moves forward in certain fields. It has better build quality than the S4 for those people who don't like the idea of having a plastic phone and offers the 5 inch screen and 13mp camera over the HTC one. Furthermore you get the Sony exclusives i.e clean audio, playstation store, Bravia 2 engine, superior auto and various other little add ons like small apps. Also it offers all of these features in a waterproof/dustproof package. I strongly recommend this phone to music lovers out there and to people who value the 5 inch HD screen combined with high build quality or people who enjoy Sony innovations and software.
Has Microsoft Office, and great hardware and software styling...
Great in every aspect!! Great display, great camera!!
The tiles are very customizable. This is a rugged feeling phone that has great battery life and a better camera than the Sony I got for Christmas. The Nokia apps for photos and City Lens are Great! Now couple that with real Microsoft office and you have a winner. Being an original Android user from back to the first Droid, the UI took a little getting used to but after a day I feel very comfortable and the stability makes me glad I switched
