The stream of Google hardware leaks continues with details on new Google Home and Google Daydream View products.
First up is the Google Home Mini. According to Droid-Life, this is a smaller version of the Google Home smart speaker, similar to how Amazon’s Echo Dot is a smaller Echo.
The Google Home Mini is expected to be sold in Chalk, Charcoal, and Coal color options with a price tag of $49. Just like the full-size Google Home, this Google Home Mini will reportedly let you handle your schedule, set reminders, get news, answer questions, and use Google Assistant.
While the Google Home is cheaper than the Amazon Echo, its price of $129 can still be a bit much for folks that want to try a smart speaker but don’t want to pay a lot since they don’t know if they’ll like it. This Google Home Mini seems like a smart move for Google because it gives folks a cheap way to try a Google Home product and will likely get more folks using Google Assistant.
Also leaked today is a new Google Daydream View VR headset. This new model doesn’t look terribly different from the old version, sporting some kind of a cloth cover and a controller. One notable difference between the two is price, with the new Google Daydream View reportedly carrying a $99 price tag, $20 more than the original model.
