I have a list of 10 must-have apps for every Android user. Some of these apps were released in the month of January and some of them were simply recently updated this past month. Some of them may even be available on iOS. But I hope you find at least one app that interests you. Feel free to suggest a must-have app in a comment down below if you have one. With that said, let's get started.

Kickstarter

Kickstarter released an app for Android in January that allows you to explore thousands of creative crowdfunded projects. Kickstarter is home to a wide range of projects consisting of art, games, tech, movies—you name it. The reason why I've included it in the list is because it's one of my favorite crowdfunding sites. I love browsing through the tech section to see what kind of clever cool tech is in the works. And in fact, some of that tech ends up being featured in our best tech series.

SKRWT

SKRWT is a very powerful photo-editing app. It features a lens correction tool that I want to say is unrivaled. With the recent update, you can do stuff like correct horizontal and vertical perspective distortion, you can remove vignette correction (if you so do desire). SKRWT features full auto-cropping and an adjustable grid. It's been on the market for quite some time now and it's only gotten better and better with recent updates.

Chrooma Keyboard

Chrooma Keyboard is one of the best third-party keyboards on the Play Store so not only is it resizable but it features swipe typing and all the standard languages you can ever want. There's a mode called Night Mode that will automatically change the color tone according to the ambient light, which I thought was kind of cool. You can also change the color of the keyboard itself to whatever you like. There's even a feature to have the keyboard adapt to the color of the app being used. I think overall, it's a beautifully simple app with a ton of customizable options.

Traffic Rider

Traffic Rider is a pretty darn fun game, if I don't say so myself. I'm sure many of you have played it already. Basically, you play as a first-person motorcyclist dodging through traffic going over 100 kph. It's super reckless but a lot of fun as there's a career mode with a ton of different levels and an endless mode to play whenever and wherever you are.

Notes Lock

Notes Lock is an app that password protects your secret notes so you can add photos and audio notes in conjunction with audible reminders. There's a built-in calendar view and you can back up your notes to Dropbox, if you so desire. I think the reason I like this app so much though is that it's a lot like Google Keep, which is my main notes-taking app of choice. In Notes Lock, you just simply add security protection to your notes; making it a much more secure solution.

Backdrops

Backdrops is a wallpaper app but it's not just any wallpaper app. It features Material Design in almost every way imaginable, whether it be through the apps designed or through the wallpapers themselves. The wallpapers are created from the Backdrops team and it's going to (obviously) depend on personal preference whether or not you like them or not. But I personally really do like them and think you will too.

Portal

Portal is an app from Pushbullet made for Wi-Fi file transfers. It's also named after the awesome puzzle game by Valve. It's one of the most popular apps out there for a reason. It's incredibly useful and it works super well. You go to portal.pushbullet.com on your computer, you scan the code that it gives you with your phone and you're good to go. You can start transferring pictures, videos and various other files from your PC to your phone. It's that easy.

Solid Explorer

Solid Explorer is a very solid file manager app. It allows you to locate files locally as well as in the Cloud. It will adjust the appearance of the app to match your particular style with your particular preferred color schemes and icon packs. You can even expand the functionality through plug-ins available on the Play Store. The app itself is designed with Material Design in mind so it's visually stunning and presents information to you in a very clean UI.

Swing

We're going to end this video with a couple more games. Swing is a very simple game where you play as a little Robin Hood at first and you swing from platform to platform. You simply tap a screen when the rope is long enough to reach the next platform and that's it. You may have noticed over the past several months or year or so, that I really enjoy simple, time-wasting games like this. If you share a similar interest, you should check out Swing. It's a lot harder than you think.

The Room Three

The other game is a complete opposite of Swing. It's called The Room Three and it's an intricate mystery adventure game and the sequel to the award-winning The Room and The Room Two games. The Room Three features expanded location, additional artifacts and objects, atmospheric audio, magnified worlds and alternate endings. It does cost about $5 but if you like mystery games, adventure games; then this is a must-have in my opinion.
