ZTE’s Axon family of Android phones is growing again with the debut of the Axon Max phablet.

The ZTE Axon Max runs Android 5.1 beneath Mifavor 3.5, ZTE’s custom user interface. It’s got a 6-inch 1920x1080 AMOLED display and 13-megapixel camera  on its face, and around back lives a 16-megapixel camera with flash and a fingerprint reader. Inside of the Axon Max’s 7.5mm-thick aluminum body is a Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot for adding more storage, and 4G LTE connectivity.

Powering ZTE’s new “premium phablet” is a 4140mAh battery. The Axon Max offers a reversible USB Type-C port for charging, and it’s also got Quick Charge 2.0 support for juicing up that battery in a hurry.

The ZTE Axon Max is now available for pre-order in China for 2799 Yuan, or around $432, ahead of its release later this month. There’s no word on when or if ZTE will release the Axon Max in other parts of the globe.

While the Axon Max doesn’t have the same unique speaker grilles as the Axon Pro, it still looks nice enough, and the fact that its made of aluminum ought to give it a premium feel. Some of the Axon Max’s specs may turn off folks looking for bleeding edge hardware, but for less demanding smartphone users, the Axon Max looks like a respectable phablet for the price.
