Rumors of a Windows Phone device codenamed “McLaren” have been floating around for well over a year now, but late last year, reports suggested that the Lumia 1020 successor had been cancelled. Since then, some additional images of the device have leaked out, and tonight another has surfaced.

Prolific leaker Evan Blass today shared a press render of the Nokia McLaren, showing a device that looks a lot like a Lumia 1020, but with a aluminum body and a polycarbonate strip at its bottom for its antennas. The back of the McLaren is home to a large, round camera housing with a dual LED flash, and the side of the unit has volume, power/lock, and camera keys.

The McLaren’s spec list is rumored to include a 5-inch 1920x1080 display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a microSD slot. The camera on the back of the unit is said to be a 20-megapixel sensor with PureView branding.

The McLaren isn’t nearly as well-specced as the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL that were announced recently, but it seems appropriate for the late 2014 timeframe in which is was originally rumored to launch. With its aluminum body, it’s a pretty nice-looking phone, too. Unfortunately, most of us likely won’t ever get to handle one. At least there have been a few leaks like this one to give us peeks at cancelled phone.
