Last time we unboxed the OPPO R5 and now let’s look at their latest camera flipping flagship, the OPPO N3. From the OPPO N1, this has received a size reduction among other things including software, new design, and a new motor for that 16MP Schneider-made optics camera.
Unlike previous OPPO devices, this comes in a white matte box instead of the usual matte black box. But overall, the design and presentation is identical; as always, topnotch. Lifting the top lid reveals the OPPO N3 sitting ever so beautifully on the left side. After lifting up the device, it showcases its build quality and attention to detail. This model feels different from the one we had over a month ago. It feels a little bit more polished and production-ready. And again, topnotch build quality on the first production.
After moving the phone to the side and lifting up the plastic tray, it reveals the SIM eject tool. Underneath are some Manuals and Warranty Information, as well as the microUSB to USB cable for charging and data syncing. Over to the right, you’ll find the rapid charger power brick, which is a US model. Above this are a pair of earphones. The last thing to mention is the new O-Click controller, which has been redesigned and given some new features to control the camera on the OPPO N3.
Back to the device, we’re looking at a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD display on the front, which brings its ppi to 401. On the inside, we’re looking at a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chip alongside the Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The special feature to the OPPO N3 is the new 16MP camera with Schneider Optics plus its new motorized swivel. Unlike the manual swivel camera on the OPPO N1, this allows you to control the camera by either the O-Touch area on the back, screen, or just have it control itself with fast rapid motion by touching or swiping the flip camera button.
On the software, we’re running Android 4.4.4 KitKat with ColorOS 2.0, which again has changed quite a few things around but seem to have added a lot of polish to the software.
